Leadership
Anil Uberoi, Co-founder and CEO
A Silicon Valley veteran, Anil has held leadership positions at Lucid Imagination (Chief Marketing Officer), Levanta (Chief Marketing Officer), Backflip Software (President), Amdocs (VP Global Marketing), and a other major corporations, including Sun Microsystems, Netopia, and National Semiconductor. He has built early stage firms into thriving enterprises, driven the success of billion dollar product lines (Sun Netra), and worked with proprietary and open source startups. Most recently, at Lucid Imagination, Anil led the launch of the company including go-to-market strategy, corporate communications, partnerships and OEM relationships and established Lucid as the de-facto destination for open source Apache Lucene and Solr users. Anil holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
Mark Davis, Founder and CTO
Mark brings over 20 years of varied experience in computational linguistics, information retrieval and intelligent systems research and development to Kitenga. Mark has served as a Program Manager in the Publishing and Knowledge Management (PKM) group at Microsoft, and as Principal Engineer at InXight Software, helping spin InXight out of Xerox PARC. InXight was acquired by Business Objects in 2007. While at InXight, Mark led technical due diligence on the acquisition of Whizbang! Labs, authored numerous patents, and led development of InXight’s enterprise server product line, Smart Discovery. During his time as a DoD researcher, he published more than 20 papers on cross-language text retrieval, computational linguistics, information visualization and related areas. His technology has had demonstration and operational roles within the Intelligence Community and he has served as Principal Investigator on DARPA, NSF, DOE, Air Force, Army, and Missile Defense Agency R&D projects. Mark holds BSEE and MSEE degrees from New Mexico State University and was a US Peace Corps teacher in the Republic of Fiji (1988-1991), teaching physics, economics, and mathematics.
